Dear Class of 2025,
You stand at the edge of a new chapter, a moment shimmering with possibility, uncertainty, and hope for all intents and purposes. The world you’re stepping into is more complex and unpredictable than ever, so it has been said, but it’s also bursting with opportunities for those bold enough to seize them. This is your time to shine, to write your own story, and to shape the future not just for yourself, but for your generation and the world beyond.
START BEFORE YOU FEEL READY
Let’s be honest, you’ll never feel 100% ready. The truth is, nobody does. The most remarkable journeys begin with a single step taken in uncertainty, a step into the void, entrer dans le vide. Don’t wait for the perfect plan, the perfect moment, or the perfect skillset. Dive in. Take risks. Try things that scare you a little. The world rewards action, not hesitation. Every great achievement starts with someone daring to begin.
EMBRACE CHANGE AND THE ART OF THE PIVOT
Forget the myth of a straight path. Life is a winding road, full of detours, surprises, and pivots. You might start in one field and find your passion in another. You might fail spectacularly at something, only to discover a hidden talent or a new direction. Be flexible. See every twist and turn as a chance to learn, grow, and reinvent yourself. The ability to adapt is your greatest superpower of humankind.
MAKE PEACE WITH TRADE-OFFS AND REGRET
You can’t do everything. Every choice means leaving something else behind. There will be moments when you wonder, “What if I’d chosen differently?” That’s normal. Don’t let the fear of regret paralyze you. Make decisions with intention, learn from your mistakes, and keep moving forward. Life isn’t about avoiding regret, no, it’s about living fully and courageously, even when the outcome is uncertain.
BECOME A LIFELONG LEARNER
Graduation isn’t the end of your education, far from it; it’s just the beginning. The world is changing faster than ever, I mean AI and all, and the most successful people are those who never stop learning. Read widely. Ask questions. Seek out mentors. Learn from your failures as much as your successes. Be curious about everything, be a Rene Descarte of our time, be a Socrates of our time, you know “One thing I know for certain is that I know nothing”. The more you know, the more you’ll realize how much there is left to discover.
BUILD RELATIONSHIPS THAT MATTER
No one achieves greatness alone. Invest in your relationships with friends, family, mentors, colleagues, and your community. Surround yourself with people who inspire you, challenge you, and believe in you. Be generous with your time and support. Celebrate others’ successes and lift them up when they stumble. The connections you forge now will become your greatest assets in the years to come.
MASTER THE FUNDAMENTALS
“Master the fundamentals, so you can predict, improvise and concentrate on what really matters.!” - Kyrie Irving
Don’t underestimate the power of the basics. Communication, critical thinking, emotional intelligence, financial literacy, and time management are skills that will serve you in every aspect of life. Learn to listen deeply, speak clearly, and write persuasively. Understand how money works. Take care of your physical and mental health. These are the foundations upon which you’ll build your dreams.
HARNESS TECHNOLOGY, BUT STAY HUMAN
We live in an age of rapid technological advancement that is artificial intelligence, automation, and digital transformation are reshaping every industry. Embrace these tools. Learn how to use them to your advantage. But remember, technology is a tool, not a replacement for your unique gifts. Your creativity, empathy, and authenticity are irreplaceable. Let your humanity shine through in everything you do.
GIVE BACK AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Success isn’t just about what you achieve for yourself, but it’s really about the impact you have on others. Use your talents to lift up your community, your country, and your world. Volunteer. Mentor. Stand up for what’s right. The most fulfilling lives are those spent in service to something greater than oneself.
PLAY THE LONG GAME
In a world obsessed with instant gratification, choose the path of patience and persistence. True success is built over the years, not overnight. Set big goals, but break them down into small, achievable steps. Celebrate progress, not just perfection. When you stumble, and of course you will, get back up. The people who succeed are the ones who keep going, no matter how tough the road gets.
WRITE YOUR OWN STORY
This is your life. Don’t let anyone else define what success means for you. Listen to advice, but trust your instincts. Take pride in your roots, your culture, and your unique journey. Be bold enough to dream big and brave enough to pursue those dreams, even when the world tells you they’re impossible.
IN CLOSING
The world needs your ideas, your energy, and your hope. You are the architects of tomorrow. Don’t just wait for the future but rather create it.
Step forward with courage, curiosity, and compassion.
The pen is in your hands. Write a story that only you can tell.
Congratulations, Class of 2025. The adventure begins now.
With all the warmth in the world,
