About Sulaiman (2000-2024)

Sulaiman Kabuubi was a visionary, a legal technologist, and the pioneering founder of Lawpoint Uganda. Born on November 12, 2000, to Mr. Ali and Mrs. Asia Sempereza, Sulaiman grew up within a large, vibrant family alongside his nine siblings: Saad, Miriat, Mastulla, Fatuma, Joweria, Abdul, Mariam, Ibrahim, and Hakim. From his early days at Parents View Nursery School and Uganda Martyrs Primary School in Kanyanya to his secondary education at Kabowa High School, he demonstrated a unique blend of intellectual curiosity and a drive to serve his community.

In 2019, Sulaiman’s pursuit of excellence took him to India, where he enrolled at Siksha 'O' Anusandhan University in Bhubaneswar. During his five years abroad, he did not just study the law; he mastered the tools of the modern age. He was a firm believer in the intersection of technology and justice, earning specialized certifications in Conflict Management and Resolution, AI and the Rule of Law, Negotiation, and Digital Marketing. His commitment to learning also saw him complete courses in Contracts and Procurement, ensuring he had a holistic understanding of the legal and business landscape.

Sulaiman’s greatest professional legacy is Lawpoint Uganda which he founded in 2020 while in India. Driven by a passion for legal accessibility, he personally designed the Lawpoint website and built a digital ecosystem from the ground up. Under his leadership, Lawpoint’s social media presence across LinkedIn, X, Instagram, and Telegram grew to a community of over 12,300 followers. His professional reach extended beyond his own venture; he gained international experience interning at Lex Destiny Law Firm and dedicated his time to volunteering at the Orissa Association for the Blind in India. He was also a thoughtful contributor to legal discourse, notably authoring a publication titled, “Legal Implications of the Use of Emojis: A Critical Analysis.”

Beyond his academic and professional accolades, Sulaiman was a man of diverse skills. He was as comfortable coding in Python and Java or conducting data analysis in R and SPSS as he was drafting complex legal memoranda and contracts. To those who knew him personally, Sulaiman was a vibrant soul who found joy in playing basketball, swimming, and cooking. He was a dedicated reader who loved socializing with friends, always balancing his technical expertise with a warm and engaging personality.

Unfortunately, Sulaiman Kabuubi suddenly passed away on May 18, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of innovation and kindness. Though his life was far too short, his impact remains visible through the platforms he built and the lives he touched. He remains an inspiration to young legal professionals in Uganda and beyond through Lawpoint Uganda, proving that with vision and hard work, one can bridge the gap between tradition and the future.
